Universities Fund participated in the 3rd Annual Regulatory Authorities and Agencies Conference geared towards improving efficiency and service delivery in government institutions.
Universities Fund Ag. CEO Dr Edwin Wanyonyi helped to highlight the Fund’s contribution in the higher education financing space.
The summit enabled the stakeholders to take stock of the progress made by regulatory authorities and agencies in implementing reforms targeted at reinvigorating service delivery and institutional effectiveness.
The delegates, who included senior government officials, regulators, board chairpersons, chief executive officers, and policymakers, also deliberated on solidifying coordination among public institutions. The event ran from May 6–8, 2026 at South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU).
This year’s conference built on the outcomes of the maiden event held in 2024 and the subsequent one in 2025.
Additionally, it highlighted best practices and innovations from different agencies, with speakers sharing experiences on how regulatory frameworks can better support economic growth while at the same time safeguarding public interest.
The event also highlighted the increasing role of universities in facilitating robust discourse on governance and policy development.
The delegates were optimistic that the resolutions would contribute to stronger institutions, enhanced regulatory responsiveness and improved service delivery to Kenyans.
The event reaffirmed the government’s determination to build efficient, transparent and accountable public institutions capable of supporting the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
